About this perennial

Sedum spectabile Stardust is a beautiful perennial that produces white flowers. Stonecrop is a lovely autumn bloomer in the garden, providing plenty of colour in your border from August to October. After blooming, the spent flowers create a beautiful winter silhouette in your border.

Do you want to see butterflies and bees in your garden? Then this is the plant for you! Sedum attracts many useful and beautiful insects to your garden who will be grateful for this late bloomer. In spring and summer, you can also enjoy the attractive foliage of the Sedum, which clearly shows its relation to succulents. The advantage of this is that the plant can retain a lot of water and also grows well in a somewhat drier, poorer spot in your garden.

CARE

Sedum is very easy to care for and blooms readily. It is an ideal low-maintenance plant that adds beautiful color to your border in late summer. In winter, the leaves and flowers die back. The spent flowers provide a beautiful silhouette in the border during winter. You can cut back the stems in early spring.

After a few years, it's wise to dig up and divide the Sedum when the plant gets too large. Do this in the autumn when the plant is dormant. You can cut the plant in half with a sharp knife. The new shoots grow on the outside of the plant; the center of the plant is the old part that you can remove.
SPOT IN THE GARDEN

Sedum has firm leaves and wide flower stalks. The plant and leaves have a beautiful blue-green color, and in August, the buds, which grow widely over the entire plant, develop a lovely white color.

Place your Sedum in full sun or partial shade. The plant is easy to maintain and grows well in both pots and in the ground. The most important thing to watch out for is that the plant is in well-drained soil. Sedum prefers to be a little too dry rather than too wet. Sedum is part of the succulent family and retains a good amount of moisture in its leaves.

Our P9 plants are available directly from stock. You can indicate in the shopping cart when you would like to receive your order.
