History
Yarrow, or Achillea, is named after the Greek mythological character Achilles. According to stories, the plants were used to treat the wounds of warriors. Yarrow is originally from Europe, North America, and parts of Asia. Due to the aromatic scent of the plant and its leaves, it has always remained a popular garden plant. There are now various types and colors of Yarrow.
Care
Yarrow is an easy plant that doesn't need much beyond sufficient sun. Preferably, place the plant in a sunny spot in your garden. Make sure you have dry or well-draining soil, as the flowers can droop if there isn't enough drainage.
You can plant it both in a pot and directly in the ground. Even in a pot, flowers will easily grow.
Winter Care
Yarrow is winter-hardy. The leaves die back in winter, and you can cut them away in early spring to stimulate the growth of new leaves.
Flowers
The flowers of Yarrow have beautiful colors and brighten up your garden or a self-cut bouquet. They last a long time in a vase, and you can also dry these flowers for a dried bouquet, so you can always enjoy them.
