About this perennial plant

Sedum spectabile Brillant is a beautiful pink stonecrop. This lovely autumn bloomer adds a lot of color to your border from August to October. After that, the faded flowers create a beautiful winter silhouette in your garden.

Would you like to see butterflies and bees in your garden? Then this is the plant for you! Sedum attracts many useful and beautiful insects to your garden who will be grateful for this late bloomer. In spring and summer, you can also enjoy the charming foliage of the Sedum, which clearly shows its relation to succulents. The advantage of this is that the plant can retain a lot of water and also grows well in a somewhat drier, poorer spot in your garden.

CARE

Sedum is very easy to care for and blooms easily. It is an ideal low-maintenance plant that adds beautiful colour to your border in late summer. In winter, the foliage and flowers die back, and you can then cut off the stems.

After a few years, it's a good idea to dig up and divide the Sedum when the plant gets too large. Do this in autumn when the plant is in its dormant phase. You can cut the plant in half with a sharp knife. The new shoots grow on the outside of the plant; the centre of the plant is the old part that you can remove.

SPOT IN THE GARDEN

Sedum has sturdy leaves and broad flower stalks. The plant and leaves have a beautiful blue-green color, and in August, a lovely pink color appears on the buds, which grow widely over the entire plant.

Place your Sedum in full sun or partial shade. The plant is easy to maintain and grows well in both a pot and in the ground. The most important thing to watch out for is that the plant is in well-drained soil. Sedum prefers to be a little too dry rather than too wet. Sedum is part of the succulent family and retains quite a bit of moisture in its leaves.
