About this perennial

With its beautiful blue thistle flowers, Eryngium is a striking presence in your garden. 'Blue Glitter' is a strong, very hardy variety that lives for a long time. This perennial produces branched stems full of dark blue thistles. They are a rich source of nectar and therefore very popular with pollinators. The plant is also very suitable for cutting and has previously been named cut flower of the year.

CARE

In spring, remove any remaining leaves and stems and provide some organic fertilizer. The flowers of the Eryngium are also very suitable for cutting or picking for a bouquet from your own garden.

Cut away all flowers as soon as they are ready for picking, to stimulate a second bloom.

Divide the plant every 4-5 years and replant the young sections into the soil to keep the plant healthy.
SPOT IN THE GARDEN

Plant the Eryngium in a sunny spot in the garden. Ensure well-drained soil. The plant also thrives in dry garden areas. Before planting, mix some sand into the soil for good drainage. The plant is very winter hardy.

Our P9 plants are available directly from stock. You can indicate in the shopping cart when you would like to receive your order.
