About this perennial

Valeriana officinalis is a native plant often found near ponds. Valerian is also known for its use in medicine. A very hardy and easy-to-maintain perennial that grows well in many soil types. The large umbelliferous flowers are lovely for picking. In the border, they attract many pollinators.

CARE

Plant Valerian in the right spot in your garden and you'll have little maintenance to do. The plant attracts many butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. In spring, give it some organic fertilizer to stimulate growth and flowering.
SPOT IN THE GARDEN

Plant Valerian in a spot with partial shade and ensure the soil is reasonably moist. Good drainage is important. If necessary, mix some sand or grit into the soil to improve permeability.

Delivery

Our P9 plants are available directly from stock. You can indicate in the shopping cart when you would like to receive your order.

Are you also ordering peonies in pre-order in the same order? Then your order will be delivered in two packages. The peonies will be shipped between October 12 and October 25, 2026. You can choose a shipping week for the peonies during checkout; this will be indicated under the shipping method.
