About this perennial

Stachys byzantina is known in the Netherlands as Lamb's Ear. It is a perennial plant known for its soft leaves. Every time you walk past, you'll want to brush your hand over its leaves. Versatile and very easy to maintain. Great in a pot or at the front of a border, where the lamb's ear provides colour even in winter. A fun plant to plant and discover with children. The plant also produces lovely flowers that can add a nice variety to your cut flower bouquets.

CARE

Lamb's ear is very frost resistant. In spring, give it some organic fertilizer to stimulate growth and then remove any remaining old leaves or stems. Cut away spent flowers to allow the plant to focus on its foliage again and prevent gaps from forming. Divide the plant after about 4 years to keep it healthy.
SPOT IN THE GARDEN

Plant Stachys byzantina in a location with full sun to partial shade. The plant is very suitable as a ground cover at the front of a border. Ensure nutrient-rich and well-draining soil. Before planting, mix some fresh soil or compost into the existing soil for a nutrient-rich base. If the soil remains too wet, Stachys may die in winter. The plant also tolerates calcareous soil well.

Our P9 plants are available directly from stock. You can indicate in the shopping cart when you would like to receive your order.
