About this perennial

Centranthus ruber 'Pretty Betsy' is a beautiful, long-flowering perennial. A wonderful plant for your garden or cutting garden. Red Valerian used to be used in medicinal gardens. It is an old plant species with great charm and beautiful flowers. The plant originates from the Mediterranean region and thrives best on rocky soil. Other soil types are also possible, as long as you ensure it is very well-drained.

CARE

Make sure to plant this plant in well-draining soil. Otherwise, it will not establish well.

Provide the plant with some organic fertilizer in the autumn and early spring to stimulate growth and flower production.

SPOT IN THE GARDEN

Centranthus loves plenty of sun and dry soil. If you have less dry soil, make sure it is very well-draining. You can always dig some out and mix the soil with sand to create more permeability.

Delivery

Our P9 plants are available directly from stock. You can indicate in the shopping cart when you would like to receive your order.

Are you also ordering peonies in pre-order in the same order? Then your order will be delivered in two packages. The peonies will be shipped between October 12 and October 25, 2026. You can choose a shipping week for the peonies during checkout; this will be indicated under the shipping method.
