About this perennial

Echinops is a valuable addition to your garden that remains an attractive sight even in winter. Its seed heads and stems stay upright and also attract birds who enjoy feeding on them. In summer, the beautiful blue flowers attract plenty of bees and bumblebees. Echinops flowers are also great for use as dried flowers.

Location Plant Echinops in full sun and in well-drained soil. This thistle-like plant prefers to be a little too dry rather than too wet and thrives in a very sunny spot.
Planting plant immediately upon receipt to prevent the root ball from drying out.

CARE

In spring, remove any leftover leaves and stems and give the Echinops Platinum Blue some organic fertilizer. The Echinops flowers are also very suitable for cutting or picking for a bouquet from your own garden, or hang the flowers to use as dried flowers.

Divide the plant every 4-5 years and replant the young sections in the ground to keep the plant healthy.
SPOT IN THE GARDEN

Plant the Echinops in a spot with full sun and well-draining soil. The thistle-like plant prefers to be a little too dry rather than too wet and can thrive in a very sunny location. The plant blooms in the summer months, from July to September.

Our P9 plants are available directly from stock. You can indicate in the shopping cart when you would like to receive your order.

Are you also ordering peonies in pre-order in the same order? Then your order will be delivered in two packages. The peonies will be shipped between October 12 and October 25, 2026. You can choose a shipping week for the peonies during checkout; this will be indicated under the shipping method.
